I promised him no such thing. I promised him I'd pay him at the

I promised no such thing. I have a responsibility to my employees.
In this case, the greater good involves protecting as many of my
poeople as I can. My customers are my poeople, too.

Where did I promise to do anything other than pay him?
My potential misfortune, those of my non-troublesome employees, and
the potential misfortune of my customers figures into the mix as
well. I have the sole authority and responsibility to weigh those
risks. It's my money, they're playing with.

<Shrug> It has nothing to do with ideology. It's pure economics.
Without employers, employees have nothing to eat. Your position
undully burdens employers, and results in a lower level of wealth
creation, resulting in less for everyone.
