and the problem in the type of post below is that once again it leaves
out any concern for the civil rights of the small business owner.
there are conflicting rights here, folks. Recognize that, that it is not
just the employees rights, but the employers rights as well, and those
two rights may well be in conflict. Until that very basic concept is
recognized this debate cant get very far.
one line from the post below is great.

Yes, exactly. Don't ask one group to bear the entire burden. If you want these guarantees for employees, make it a burden of society. Change the rules, change the laws, so that the cost of keeping those employees is covered by society, "everyone across the board" and not the small business owner.
