Re: [BDSM-LegalIssues] Re: Arrested, ALL charges dismissed, career ruined WAS: You did, didn't you,
OOOPPSSS.
Excuse me.
Just so happens I am pretty well connected to the USA. Lived there and worked there a good number of years. Rest of my family are all dual citizens. I am in touch with a whole bunch of lawyers there. Etc.
Point you fail to get is that it is possible to change laws so they match what is right. Also you fail to get that people can just go ahead and do what is right instead of what is permited.
(And, by the way, the reason we don't have those billion dollar suits here is that our Supreme Court of Canada decided there was a limit on the pain and suffering award - you can dig up the cite if you want (a tirilogy of cases if I recall right). But we have our own weird litigation happy cases here - check our media, there are weird ones all the time. But that ain't no reason for individual people to stop discriminating or fighting to stop discrimination.
Some people just like to proceed on the assumption they are better than others and the others just don't deserve any concern - if that's you, go ahead an enjoy yourself but stop pretending you are part of the fight for justice (by BDSM people or others). Accept that you are an oppressor who would have been happy to own slaves, beat their women, etc.

Your problem is that you don't understand the difference between the
Canadian (and Australian and UK and most other places) litigation system and
the US one.

Here's a point to ponder: why are there no multimillion dollar awards of
damages for "pain and suffering" in Canadian courts?
Until you can address that point, you're just shouting in the dark.
