[WestMichiganRope] Re: It's too quiet here...

Like Greg, I tied the jeans harness last week. First time, new tie,
ya, I made some mistakes with it. That, and I too found the directions
a little on the difficult side to determine the finer details. But,
between the pictures and the text, was able to figure it out.

The first mistake I made was in weaving the ropes on the main harness.
I went under 2 and over 2 instead of each individual rope. This added
some bulk to the weave which didn't need to be there. Still looked
nice, but not quite right.

I did notice the potential problem with the clavical. I was a bit more
fortunate in that the clavical on the person I did the tie on didn't
have one that was real prominent. I was able to pull the shoulder
ropes away from the more bony area and into one more with flesh over
the bone with the retaining ropes. The mistake that I made here is
that because the breast tissue ran more under my subject's arms I ran
the ropes at too slight an angle. They wanted to ride up into the
armpit area during suspension. Again, something that is easily
corrected the next time I do the harness. I think the biggest lesson I
learned here by doing and reading Greg's posting is that some aspects
of the harness are adjustable and that each body type needs to be
compensated for.

All in all, the hareness is, as Gary said in his posting of the tie, a
very comfortable suspension tie. It definately relieves a lot of the
strain on the chest that is encountered with a "standard" chest harness
and is one I do plan to use more. Yes, it does take longer to tie but
I think the results are well worth the effort and makes the journey
worth it.
